Why should I join the PTO?

MYTH
I'll get roped into volunteering for something if I go to a PTO meeting.
FACT
There will be opportunities to get involved, but no pressure. No guilt!
MYTH
No one will listen to my suggestions because I am new.
FACT
New ideas are always welcome. New ideas keep our PTO fresh and exciting. Speak from your heart and we will listen.
MYTH
The PTO moms know each other really well and are just a big clique.
FACT
The majority of the active PTO members do know each other as a result of working together on various projects, but our group is friendly and welcoming to ALL! Give us a chance to get to know you too!
MYTH
The PTO has all the help they need. My participation will not make a difference.
FACT
We want and need your help! W have positions that need to be filled and we need volunteers to help at our events. If you choose to participate, you decide your time commitment. We understand that your time is valuable.
MYTH
The PTO is only for stay-at-home moms with nothing else to do.
FACT
Your fellow PTO members are family and community members who want to support the kids and the school. Most members are juggling work, bills, household chores, kids, sports and homework, just like you!
